Over the last few years there have been several technological advancements that have been vastly appreciated by the general public, all coming from Apple. The iPhones, iPads and iPods are well known additions to society, but it seems that another company is about to challenge Apple’s monopoly; the new Blackberry Playbook.
This new addition to the world of gaming is to be released this month and is an improvement on the Apple version in terms of size. It is a tablet computer device which is smaller than its Apple counterpart, which will most likely be viewed as more comfortable.
Although the iPad 2 is smaller than the original iPad, this Blackberry Playbook is smaller still, giving Apple a run for its money. This version will supposedly meet the price of the iPad 2, unlike both the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Motorola Zoom, which are set to cost more.
Apple released iPad 2 at the beginning of March, which is only the beginning of the new mobile gaming and sportsbook applications, as the popularity of these devices grows continually. Despite the fact that this is a relatively new fad, its potential is great, which will lead to several different versions of this new form of gaming.
The first internet gaming operator to bring out a betting application for the first iPad, was Online sportsbook Betfair. This took place less than a year ago, in the middle of 2010 and its success led immediately to similar apps from various other operators such as Paddy Power and mobile casino Jackpot City.
