First of all keep your mobile phone beyond the reach of the infants and pets. Since they are unaware of electronic items it might hurt them or they may damage it.

Do not listen music using headset at high volumes. It can damage your hearing. It is advisable to listen the music at medium volume.
Make use of those batteries and chargers which are certified and are of the same company as the mobile phone. Ordinary and incompatible batteries, chargers and accessories might damage your phone.
Batteries of the mobile phones are sensitive to very hot temperatures. So avoid placing the batteries near heating devices like heaters, microwave ovens etc ...

Do not make use of the mobile phones while driving. It may divert the attention from driving and can cause severe accidents. If the call is urgent, park the vehicle at a convenient place and attend the call.
Protect your phone from getting wet. Avoid handling your phone with wet hands. Liquids may damage the internal functioning of the phone.

Last but not the least, buy a branded mobile phone for long life and satisfactory service. Chinese or Korean phones might appeal at the first look, but their life is not certain.
