After Motorola launched their Honeycomb tablet at CES recently, Samsung seems to be rushing to reveal a rival product to keep up with the competition in the tablet arena. There are no known details yet of Samsung CES plans. A report from the Korea Times believed that Samsung is likely to unveil upgraded models of their widely-known Galaxy S and Galaxy Tab devices.
Previous reports have disclosed Samsung large order with NVIDIA for their Tegra 2, after which many assumed to get a dual-core processor on Samsung next set of devices. Google picked Tegra 2 as the primary platform for Honeycomb, and this left Samsung little choice on CPU option if they do not want to be left behind by Motorola and LG.
The Galaxy Tab is considered to be the best Android tablet, however, many have had second thoughts in signing contracts from carriers since rumors have spread that Samsung is already working on producing a Honeycomb tablet. For instance, Nexus S is known to be the best Android phone on the market today, but a faster dual-core version is reported to be released early next year.
Unconfirmed sources have shared that Samsung was testing dual-core devices or phones, but no details released just yet regarding their Honeycomb tablet. If the rumors are true, which we will find out real soon with CES only one week away, Samsung will once again make the news. Stay tuned.
